New Bishop Of Warrington

The Venerable Richard Blackburn, Archdeacon of Sheffield, is to be consecrated as Bishop of Warrington tomorrow morning, at a service in York Minster.

On Saturday November 7th at 3 pm, there will be a service in the Cathedral to welcome Bishop Blackburn and his family, and to mark the commencement of his ministry to the Diocese.

I understand that Parishes have been invited to apply for tickets for this event, but that the Cathedral Company have been advised to turn up if they wish to. The view seems to be that all are welcome to attend the service, whether or not you have a ticket.

Quite confusing to have Bishop Blackburn of Warrington…..maybe it’s a Trans Diocese initiative!
